Saving Mark

What?
A free book as my way to try and help people suffering with mental health. This book is a story in memory of my Uncle Mark who had taken his own life on the 1st of January 2019.

Why?
A lot of people don't understand what depression and various mental health issues mean for the person suffering through them. A lot of the time I hear people often telling their loved ones to... 'get over it' , 'suck it up' or the worst one, 'man up!' (Why? Are men robots? Do they not have feelings? It's something that really bothers me.) I hope to use this book to give people that all important talking point. Perhaps even a small insight into depression and also give those grieving a lost one a moment of comfort and a way to bring them back to life while reading these pages.

How? This book is free because I opted to keep it self published. I wrote the online version to send to a private publishing company and all costs have been covered by myself. Which means, I am also free to give away the online version.

Who? The book as discussed before, is about my Uncle Mark and it discusses how I had felt with losing him, it then delves into the fantasy of being able to bring him back to life. How I wished things could have went differently in order to save him. I believe this could be an eye opener for people who may be dealing with a suicide loss / depressed loved on or even contemplating suicide themselves. Suicide can and does happen. We as a society need to take it a lot more seriously and talk about it openly with loved ones.

In memory of Mark David Heath.
